France-Italy Business Forum: New momentum for economic cooperation
The France-Italy Business Forum, co-organized by Business France, Medef and Confindustria, and held on Thursday, June 25, 2026, in Le Cannet, near Cannes, alongside the bilateral summit between the two countries, reinforced its role as a key platform for Franco-Italian economic dialogue.
Bringing together over 300 participants, including ministers, public sector decision-makers, leaders of major businesses and SMEs, as well as institutional partners, the event established itself as a highlight of European economic cooperation.
A strategic forum addressing key European issues
Against an international backdrop marked by the need to strengthen Europe’s economic and industrial sovereignty, France and Italy reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening their cooperation.
The forum served as an opportunity to address several major themes, including:
- Industrial and technological sovereignty.
- The energy transition.
- Innovation and microelectronics.
- Mobility and infrastructure.
- Cross-investment.
Strong support from political and business leaders
The event brought together French and Italian government ministers, including Roland Lescure, Minister for the Economy, Finance and Industrial, Energy and Digital Sovereignty, and Adolfo Urso, Minister for Enterprises and “Made in Italy”, demonstrating the level of political commitment to strengthening Franco-Italian economic ties.
Alongside government representatives, major corporations including Alstom, STMicroelectronics, Menarini, ATR and Schneider Electric participated in the discussions, illustrating the depth and diversity of industrial cooperation between France and Italy.
Structured exchanges leading to new opportunities
Throughout the day, participants took part in a program structured around:
- An opening plenary session attended by French and Italian institutional representatives.
- Sector-specific roundtables bringing together ministers, experts and major corporations.
- B2B meetings designed to build new partnerships.
These formats helped translate political dialogue into concrete economic opportunities and opened up new possibilities for cooperation between French and Italian businesses.
The day also saw the signing of several key agreements, including one between Business France and the Italian Trade Agency (ICE), attended by French and Italian government ministers. This agreement aims to strengthen cooperation on cross-investment between France and Italy. By incorporating an investment component into the export support mechanisms already established by both agencies, it will help raise business awareness regarding growth opportunities on both sides of the Alps, particularly through joint initiatives at trade shows, business missions and economic promotion events.
Conceived as a forum for dialogue and action, the event contributed to the emergence of tangible, sustainable and strategic projects for both economies.
