Focus on Canada: A look back at a busy week

Three major events took place from June 11-14, 2025: VivaTech, the Canada Forum and the Canada Country Club. These events highlighted opportunities and collaborations between France and Canada, strengthening economic ties between our two nations.

Numerous discussions took place, particularly on key tech sectors, including cybersecurity, software as a service (SaaS) and artificial intelligence applied to industry.

VivaTech 2025: A showcase for Canadian innovation

With nearly 14,000 startups expected to attend, 4,000 partners and 50 international pavilions, VivaTech has established itself as the world’s largest trade show dedicated to innovation and startups. This year, Canada was the featured country.

This major event provided an opportunity to discover Canada’s innovations and technological ambitions, as well as to strengthen ties between the French and Canadian ecosystems.

With more than 500 delegates from over 170 organizations, including 100 of the country’s most promising technology firms, the Canada Pavilion offered a comprehensive view of a country which stands out for its bold ideas and global ambition.

 

Alongside VivaTech, Business France teams organized two key events relating to Canada on June 13, 2025.

Canada Forum: A space for dialogue and collaboration

The Canada Forum, held at Business France, was a highlight of the week, bringing together experts, entrepreneurs and decision-makers to discuss opportunities for collaboration between France and Canada. The discussions provided the French businesses in attendance with a clear understanding of market challenges and practical advice for successfully setting up in Canada.

Canada Country Club: Feedback from Canadian businesses

The Canada Country Club, held alongside the Canada Forum, served as an opportunity to showcase Canadian businesses. The discussions featured feedback from these tech firms that have taken the plunge and set up in France.

This day provided an opportunity for Canadian and French businesses to come together to exchange, share and collaborate. In total, there were more than 100 participants, seven roundtables, two keynote sessions, 28 speakers and 70 B2B meetings.

In conclusion, this eventful week showcased Canada’s innovations and technological ambitions. The numerous exchanges opened up new perspectives and strengthened ties between the two countries.
