Since February 2020, Marie-Cécile Tardieu has been Chief Operating Officer for the Investment Division, responsible for economic attractiveness. The Investment Division’s main missions are to inform, court and support foreign investors, to ensure that France welcomes growth- and job-creating investments.
After graduating from the Paris Institute of Political Studies (Public Service Section, 1995) and the École Nationale d’Administration (Cyrano de Bergerac class, 1999), Marie-Cécile Tardieu began her career at the French Ministry of Finance, in the Department of External Economic Relations (DREE), working on market access issues and European Union relations with third countries (1999-2001).
She then held several positions in the French Treasury’s international network and in central government: Deputy Head of the Regional Economic Service at the French Embassy in Brazil (2001-05), Head of the Americas Office at the Treasury Department (2005-08), Head of the Economic Service at the French Embassy in Hungary (2008-10), Head of the Economic Service at the French Embassy in Vietnam (2010-13), Deputy Director of Bilateral Relations at the Treasury Department (2013-15), Head of the Regional Economic Service at the French Embassy in Morocco (2015-19).
In September 2019, Marie-Cécile Tardieu took up the role of General Secretary of the third edition of the “Choose France” Summit, which brings together top international business leaders at the invitation of the French President.
Marie-Cécile Tardieu promotes sport as a pathway for exchanges and economic development. In 2017, she created the “10 km for Peace” run in Rabat. Marie-Cécile Tardieu is a Chevalier of the Légion d’Honneur and the Ordre National du Mérite.
